Toronto Link

In 2002 Bishop David Russell (then Bishop of Grahamstown) and the Archbishop of Toronto, Terence Finlay, signed an agreement establishing a companion/ link relationship with the Diocese of Toronto for the purpose of mutual support and encouragement, and the strengthening of mission in our respective churches. The link is intended to be open to parishes, organisations and individuals, and to encourage visits and exchanges by personnel for the purpose of sharing insights and information, and the training that comes from experiencing different spiritualities and cultures.

Bishop Thabo Makgoba and his wife Lungi visited Toronto Diocese in 2004, and attended the installation of the new Bishop of Toronto, Colin Johnson, on 12 September 2004. Visitors have been coming to Grahamstown from Toronto with increasing frequency.
